What is Crafting Skill in Ark Survival Evolved

In Ark Survival Evolved, putting points into crafting skill will increase the speed at which you craft items in your inventory, and it will give you a random chance at increased damage from weapons, and increased armor from armor, go figure.  It will not increase the speed of crafting at a smithy etc., only your inventory.  It will not increase the chance of crafting a better item if it is not made from a blueprint.

I don't think it is probably worth putting a lot of points into crafting skill unless you really like building or running around the base keeping things stocked and ready to go. 

Using midewipe tonic and then putting all your points into crafting skill is a great way to get truly superior weapons and armor in Ark. Then take the midewipe tonic again and set your points back to every day. Not every server will allow you unlimited respec so don't try it unless you know you can change back!
