I am enjoying the Ark Lost Island map and discovering all the locations of resources, and some of the creatures used for collecting resources, or that are just plain cool.

Wyvern Egg Locations in the Lost Island - Ark Survival Evolved

If you are new to the Lost Island in Ark, you may be a little lost in trying to locate wyvern eggs and nests due to the map's large size.  There are two trenches or canyons with wyverns and nests in them, one contains ice wyverns, and the other, near the volcano has fire, poison, and lightning wyverns.  

Ice Wyvern Trench

Start - Lat 30.9  Long 37.8

Lightning, Fire, and Poison Trench

Once you get there, it is easy to find them, and it is easy for them to find you!  Good luck stealing wyvern eggs and raising up some baby wyverns that will do your bidding.  Ark Survival Evolved is more fun with wyverns.

Griffin Locations on the Lost Island map - Ark Survival Evolved

It is time to find and tame Griffins on the Lost Island map of Ark Survival Evolved.  The griffins spawn in two locations, on opposite sides of the map in the SW and NE corners.  Since the video was made they updated the coordinates on the Lost Island map.  The below coords will get you closer.

Ark Lost Island Metal Resource Locations

Here are some of the best, above-ground metal locations on the Lost Island map.  At some of these spots, you will also find lots of obsidian and crystal.  Metal seems to be more widely spread out on the Lost Island map, than some of the other Ark Survival Evolved worlds.  These coordinates have been updated since the patch that made the GPS useless!

Lost Island Oil Vein Locations - Ark Survival Evolved

Here I tell you where to find the oil veins on the Lost Island map in Ark Survival Evolved.  All of the veins I have found so far are located in the desert, in the very southern part of the Lost Island map. Oil Veins require an oil pump, so don't try harvesting them with a pick.  The coordinates below have been updated after the Lost Island map update.

Lost Island Magmasaur Cave and Nest Location

The Lost Island Map in Ark Survival Evolved has a neat little cave where the Magmasaurs have their nests.  It isn't too hard to get the eggs if you take your time.  You can lure the magmasaurs out of the cave by grabbing an egg and running or flying for it.  If you don't get blasted by their fire you will have the cave to yourself.  On my single player Lost Island map, I had three nests with four magmasaur eggs.  I got level, 20, 85, 85, and a great 145 egg.  That is probably the only magmasaur I will need.  Don't forget to eat the low level eggs, so new eggs will spawn in. 

They have updated the coordinates on the map, the coords below are accurate.

Lost Island Beaver Dam Locations

So far I have not seen many Castoroides on the Lost Island map in Ark Survival Evolved.  While there are not many, there are at least three Beaver Dam locations on the Lost Island. If they add any new locations, or I missed any, I will add them to the list. The coordinances below have been updated after a patch that changed the coords on the lost island.

A castoroides dam on the Lost Island.

Beavers are the best solution to gaining cementing paste.  Cementing paste is a real pain to craft as it takes crazy amounts of stone and chitin.  The dams are also great for getting a fair amount of wood, if you don’t have to travel too far with all the weight.  The other good resources are the silica pearls, which is nice if you have a base away from the ocean, or just need a few really quick.  Castoroides themselves are great for harvesting wood, as you would imagine, and can be used as a smithy, which might be handy for some.
