Ark Fjordur Maewing Locaitons

The Maewings on Fjordur are located in only one location on the main map, and one general spawn in the Asgard Realm.  The Fjordur main map has maewings roaming around much of the Redwood biome in the northeast corner of the map.  The Asgard Realm may be an easier place to tame a maewing, because you can see danger easily on the plains.  To travel to the Asgard realm, you will need to use the Portal Cave, or on PC hold down the R key until an options wheel appears and choose Asgard.

Maewings are great for fast travel around Fjordur, or any Ark map.  I find them a bit awkward to use, but maewings are your top bet for speed.  The Maewing is also great for raising baby dinos, as you probably already know.   

The best way to tame a Maewing is to trap it with a net from a harpoon gun and then knock it out.

Ark Fjordur Aberration Areas

Fjordur has many caves and areas with Aberration creatures and resources.  Below are a few of the best ones.  The video shows these areas and how to get to them in detail.  

Aberration Cave 56.8  84.7

What I call the Aberration cave you will find a lot of good things there from element shards to nameless venom, as well as many tameable Aberration shoulder pets.  The terminal for the megapithecus is also there.  

Moria/Dvergheim 86.2  5.2 other entrance 83.3 21.2

This is one of the coolest looking places on the map.  Follow the path in the cave and you will come to bridge with one of the Aberration areas below.  There is a hidden path that will take you to a more resource-rich area.  It is a little difficult to find, but go to 2:31 of the video and it will become clear.  

Space Cave Parking - 85.0  96.9, Cave 86.3  98.0

The Space Cave is really cool to visit, but it really doesn't have much there that you can't find at other aberration areas.  However, this is the only place I have seen bulbdogs.  

Green Gems 71.4  1.4

The only place to find green gems.  It has an undewater entrance, but it is a terrestrial cave.  I recommend that you bring a desmodus, because of the vertical nature of the cave.  

Rock Drakes (Asgard Realm) 41.9  49.3

This is the entrance to the Rock Drake cave, and the only cave to have radiation.  Outside the cave you can collect mushrooms.

Ark Fjordur Best Aberration Mushroom Locations

On the Fjordur map of Ark Survival Evolved, you can find the Aberration mushrooms ( Aggeravic, Ascerbic, Aquatic, and Auric) in caves and in the Asgard realm Aberration biome.  However, the best place to get these mushrooms in on the main Fjordur map.  The swamp island biome on the far western portion of the map (Lat 42.6  Lon 13.0) has many mushrooms you can just pick up with your hands.  They look just like mushrooms, not some weird plants, like they are in the caves.  When you pick up the red mushrooms with the white spots you will randomly get Aggeravic, Ascerbic, Aquatic, Auric and rare mushrooms too.  With so many mushrooms here, I don't know why you would need to go anywhere else!

Harvest these mushrooms, by hand or with a tame on Fjordur and you will get the Aggeravic, Ascerbic, Aquatic, and Auric mushrooms.

Ark Fjordur Gasbag Locations

Gasbags on the Fjordur dlc for Ark Survival Evolved are not found on the main map, they are found in the Asgard realm.  To travel to the Asgard realm you need to use the Portal Cave, or hold down the R key on PC to get a menu of areas to travel to.  Once on Asgard you will find Gasbags on the open plains.  I have found them in these general areas.

There are 10 artifacts in 9 caves on the Fjordur map of Ark Survival Evolved.  All these caves are on the main Fjordur map, so will not have to travel to other realms to get artifacts for boss fights.  However, a few of the Fjordur boss fight terminals are found in other realms.

The Fjordur map of Ark Survival Evolved has many areas where you can find metal nodes.  This post will show you some of my favorite places to harvest metal on land, and not in caves or the seperate realms, with one exception.

You can find more metal underwater, but most people don't harvest under there.  You can also find metal in many of the cave systems of Fjordur, but there are so many dangers, and getting it out of there with larger dinos is not very practical, so I have not included these metal node spawn.

Ark Fjordur Space Cave Location

The Space Cave is a tranquil place on the Fjordur Map of Ark Survival Evolved.  Some call it the lunar biome, but it really isn't like the lunar biome on Genesis.  This cave has low gravity and you can float through the air,or walk on the ground.  To find the Space Cave go to the red obelisk and travel south there you will find a good parking spot for a flyer (84.3   97.1).  It is pretty safe at this location for a flier.  From there jump in the ocean, swim a little to the right and there will be a hole in the ocean floor, that is the cave (86.0   98.1).  You can make it there without a scuba tank if you have flippers.  I recommend bringing flippers to out-swim some of the sharks and other nasty creatures of the deep.

Once you find the hole, travel down and you will see a forcefield that separates the space cave.  Once in there you will be able to breathe oxygen.  You will now be floating in low gravity.  I have never seen any aggressive creatures, only the shoulder pets from Aberration.  It is a good place to tame them because there are no bad creatures to get in your way.  The Space Cave on Fjordur has a few uncommon resources: fungal wood, Aberration mushrooms, and sap.  The mushrooms are harvested from strange bluish mushroom clumps on the ground, and the sap is picked up from another weird mushroom.

If there is any place on Fjordur where you meditate and take a break from the craziness above it is the Space Cave.  Check it out, it is pretty cool, even if you don't need the resources inside.

Fjordur Organic Polymer Location

On most Ark maps you need to find Kairuku, or some other creature to harvest organic polymer, but on the Fjordur map, there is organic polymer just for the taking.  On the swamp Island on the western side of Fjordur, there are dead trikes, and stegos that can be harvested for organic polymer, spoiled meat, and hide.  The best way to harvest this easy organic polymer is to use a moshchops with its harvest points put into organic polymer harvest. So far this is the easiest organic polymer harvest I have experienced in Ark Survival Evolved.  Although the moshcops is probably the best there are so many dead dinos to harvest, it doesn't matter much, plus there are penguins on Fjordur to harvest too.  Below are the coordinates of most of the harvestable creatures on the swamp island.

Fjordhawk Locations and Coordinates on Ark Fjordur

The fjordhawk is a cool new addition to Ark Survival Evolved and is currently only found on the Fjordur map.  I have found them in two main locations, one in the southwest and one in the northwest.  The fjord hawks can widely range, but if you enter these areas, stay still for a minute and they will come flocking to you!  That is a nice change of pace for Ark!
